Eaves Ferry House

A Restoration Project

Restoration

Built in 1909 by Samuel S. Eaves, with B. Bunch serving as the carpenter, the S. S. Eaves House is one of the few remaining examples of Steamboat Gothic architecture in Tennessee. Remarkably, the home stands today largely unaltered.

At the time of its construction, it was the largest and most impressive residence in Meigs County, and also the first home in the county to feature both electricity and running water.

The home is currently privately held and actively being restored by the McKinney family.

A Visual Chronicle of Restoration

Drop us a line...

The Eaves House is currently being carefully restored and, for now, is not open for public access. The property is secured and monitored as work continues.

We’re grateful for the community’s enthusiasm. If you have old photos, stories, or historical details about the home, we’d be honored if you shared them with us. And of course, we’re happy to answer any questions about the project.

Please send us a message above for inquiries about the project.
